Welcome to Eleanor Palmer’s Year 5 Blog!

20121026-230736.jpgHello Year 5!

I love how much you use the blog now… Keep it up!

Up above, I’ve put links to pages: the 100 Word Challenge, Poetry, Homework help and Matheltics.

I have also created some categories to organise posts to the right underneath “most recent” so you can look in the Macbeth or Sayers Croft 2012 category to see all of the posts and photos whenever you like. The links to the right will always enable you to view photos and post comments about recent adventures!

Click here for the Camden New Journal review of our play!

See you soon,

Love from Ms Stevenson.

    Change

There was a park near Watford. The park now has changed. Long ago the children would fly their kite but now the children would play on the climbing frames. They would also feed the ducks and play with their small paper boats but now they play with huge electrical boats. They would go fishing with their wooden rods near a pond but now they would go fishing with their big metal rods. Some of the children would play with their wooden scooters but now some children play with metal electric scooters and zoom around the park and everything changes.

    “Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh,” I shouted.
“Darr alo ootie,” chanted the thing, “good food!!!”
I couldn’t believe it. Some kind of 2@%$&*^^***()**)&^(&^% alien (*&%$%&*(^% had attacked me and was planning on eating me!
    “Baaaaar oo tie,”
    “Gety offfit,” I mumbled.
    “Really?” the creature asked.
    “Yes.”
    “Really?”
    “YEEEES!!!!!!”
    “Realllllllly?”
    “Y-E-S!!!!!!!”
“Darrrrrr,” It squeaked, turning its neon eyes into the peace sign and wiggling its ears at my face.
    Alright, this was just annoying.
“Okay strange hybrid species of furry dwarf, why don’t you let me go?”
    Long silence…
    “Darrrrrr!!!!”
Then I realised that it was only my brother’s Furby. Out of the blue!

I enjoyed going to the Tower of London. I wondered if Richard III did kill the two princes. My favorite crown was the one that our Queen wore at her coronation.

Forgot to ask, will we choose who we sleep with (separately of course!) on the bunk beds?
I’M GOING TO EXPLODE IF I DON’T GO SAYERS CROFT NOW!!!! (Well, not really. Well, I do want to go Sayers Croft so much though.)

    • epyear5 says:

I love your explosive enthusiasm Sarah! We’re going to talk about bunk buddies next week but Miss Frood says the top tip is that you can talk better with whoever is next to you rather than on the same bunk!

  23. Stella says:

The trip to the tower, was really awesome!! I enjoyed seeing Sir Walter Raleigh’s cell, it looked decent, but it was all the freedom he had. I also enjoyed doing the archery thing, it was cool seeing how far your bow would have gone. Also, the investigating the tudors session was really fun! I liked working in a team to try and find out who the owner of the objects was. We all got it wrong, our guess, a 30 year old scribe, far from the answer!

Plus, I am really looking forward to Sayers Croft!

  24. Jack says:

Looking forward to Sayer’s Croft! Will we be able to play football?

  25. Roisin says:

This trip was amazing. I thought it was really fun. There is a lot of history concerning the Tower of London, especially the White tower and the Bloody Tower. I also really enjoyed the bit when we went into the vaults and were given a series of objects and had to work out who they might have belonged to, we were all wrong, the difference between a 30 year old priest (our guess) and an 11 year old page boy ( the answer) is quite large, don’t you agree?

    Roisin year 5

    • Maya. says:

The Tower of London was a very nice trip indeed ! I enjoyed the hands-on history where we got to pretend that we were archers and lots more . There were indeed some gruesome facts about torturing and also we discovered that the places that the prisoners stayed in were not like we imagined .

      Maya year 5.
